This Privacy Notice (“Privacy Notice”) describes how Lions Gate Studios Corp., including its subsidiaries (collectively referred to as the “Company” or “we” or “us”), collects, uses, stores, and shares your information in relation to our film, television, digital media, live and digital events and other activities related to production (we refer to these activities collectively as “productions”) including without limitation:
- Individuals applying or auditioning to be in our productions,
- Guests or audience members,
- Production cast members, featured performers, talent, extras and presenters,
- Support team or crew members including writers; and
- Any other individuals who provide Personal Information or whose Personal Information we collect in relation to our productions.
We refer to this broader group of individuals as “productions participants.” This Privacy Notice and the policy set forth herein does not create any contract with you or an employment relationship.
The Company maintains various privacy policies which apply based on the context of our relationship with you. This policy applies to the way your personal information will be used in the context of a production and supplements any other privacy policy provided to you in the context of our relationship with you, including without limitation, and as applicable, the Lionsgate Privacy Notice and any other privacy policies, which should be read in conjunction with this policy. If there is any inconsistency between this policy and the aforementioned policies, this policy shall take precedence with respect to how your information is used in the context of productions.
This policy does not cover the practices of third parties when they are acting independently, including production partners, distributors, broadcasters, social media platforms or other third-party platforms and those that may disclose information to the Company or collect information from or about you (including, but not limited to, third-party vendors, casting agencies and companies providing test screenings) as part of a production, and their use of your information is governed by their privacy policies, which we recommend you review.
1. Key Definitions
The following definitions apply to this Privacy Notice, please review them carefully:
- Personal information. Information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, to you.
- Sensitive personal information. Information that will generally be considered sensitive and require a higher degree of protection includes health and financial data, ethnic and racial origins, political opinions, genetic and biometric data, an individual’s sex life or sexual orientation, and religious or philosophical beliefs.
- Sell, sale, or sold. Selling, renting, releasing, disclosing, disseminating, making available, transferring, or otherwise communicating orally, in writing, or other means, your personal information to a third party for money or other valuable consideration.
- Share, shared, or sharing. Sharing, renting, releasing, disclosing, disseminating, making available, transferring, or otherwise communicating orally, in writing, or other means, your personal information to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising, whether or not for monetary or other valuable consideration.
- Third party service providers. Includes:
- Casting agencies, talent agencies, casting tools and platforms;
- Co-production or third-party production companies;
- Networks, and distributors and exhibitors of content;
- Medical providers and other registered health professionals in connection with the production;
- Individuals to whom you provided contact information;
- Venues and organizations with whom we contract for production-related activities;
- Data platforms we use to collect and administer communications with friends, family members, and/or people connected to you in regard to a production (for example, communications related to your involvement on a production or in the context of an emergency where you have listed such individuals as your emergency contacts);
- Online reporting companies;
- Fraud prevention and detection agencies and organizations;
- Background check organizations; and
- Social media platforms and other platforms or publicly available sources where you may have published information about yourself.
2. What Information Do We Collect and Share?
Below is a summary of the categories of personal information, including sensitive personal information, we have collected and will continue to collect about you. Additionally, we have provided information about: (1) why the information is collected and used; (2) whether the information includes sensitive personal information; (3) whether the information is sold or shared to third parties; (4) whether the information is disclosed for a business purpose to third parties; and (5) how long we may keep your information.
- Identifiers (Includes Sensitive Personal Information): Includes information such as your name, signature, alias, postal address, and telephone number, unique personal identifier, online identifier, IP address, account log-in, email address, account name, social security number (or foreign equivalent), social insurance number, driver’s license number, passport number, personal vehicle information. Sensitive Personal Information within this category includes your social security number, social insurance number, driver’s license number, state identification number, and passport number.
- Personal Characteristics (Includes Sensitive Personal Information): Includes information such as your race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, religious creed, mental disability, physical disability, medical condition, military / veteran status, marital status, familial associations, age, genetic characteristics, ancestry, or reproductive health decision making, information regarding your commission or alleged commission of any criminal offense, and trade union and guild memberships information. Sensitive Personal Information within this category includes information about your health, race, ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, union membership, sex life, criminal history or sexual orientation (“protected characteristics”).
- Financial Information (Includes Sensitive Personal Information): Includes information such as your company log-in information, bank account number and access code, and credit card and debit card number and access code, income history, income information, compensation, benefits information, and information regarding your beneficiaries, as may be applicable, if at all. Sensitive Personal Information in this category includes your account log-in and password, bank account number and access code, and credit card and debit card number and access code, as may be applicable, if at all.
- Internet or other Electronic Network Activity Information: Includes information such as your activity on the Company’s network and assets, internet browsing and search history while using company assets, and information regarding your interaction with the Company network.
- Professional and Educational Information (Includes Sensitive Personal Information): Includes information about your work history, education history, prior job performance, and other related professional and educational information. Sensitive Personal Information in this category includes information relating to any of your protected characteristics, as outlined above.
- Audio, Electronic, Visual, Thermal, and Related Information: Includes information such as photographs, video recordings, recorded messages, and in some cases personal temperature where appropriate.
- Information related to your physical appearance:Where this is relevant to your potential or actual participation in a production.
- Information necessary for the administration of the production: Such as performance and continuity notes, report sheets, contact information, shooting schedule, the scene, date and time as captured on clappers.
- Correspondence: in any media or format sent to us.
- Personal information collected about you offline: Includes information via mail, or in person during a production casting process, when you attend one of our events or generally when you participate in our productions.
- Information required for security of our sites, platforms and facilities:Such as information used to authenticate your access to restricted areas and information we collect to monitor the security of secure areas including via CCTV and cookies and similar technologies.
- Health information (mental and physical): Where this is relevant to your role in the production, for example where the role demands a certain level of fitness, or you have a condition for which we need to make arrangements, such as an allergy or an accessibility requirement.
- Travel information:Where the Company is assisting with any arrangements for travel in relation to your involvement on a production.
- Your Opinions: To the extent these are relevant to your involvement on the production.
- Information Collected from Third Parties: Subject to applicable law, we may also collect personal data about you from third parties, such as:
- Information regarding your citizenship or eligibility to work in the country where you would be employed;
- Your credit history and/or criminal record if you consent to a credit check or background check and such checks are reasonably required and connected to the position;
- Your Company-related log-in information, bank account number and information and access code, and credit card and debit card number and access code (where applicable and permitted by law);
- Information relating to your qualifications to work with us from your references;
- Tax related information from applicable Federal, Provincial and State tax agencies
- Publicly available information, including social media profile information, information posted online or on other platforms;
- Information we collect in the course of conducting background checks; and
- Opinions about you,including the opinions of friends and family and those of medical providers and other registered health professionals to the extent that these are relevant to your role in the production.

5. Notice of Sale or Sharing
We do not “sell” or “share” your personal information as those terms are defined under applicable law. We also do not have any actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of any California resident who is 16 years or younger.
6. Security
The Company takes the appropriate administrative, physical and technical measures to protect personal information consistent with applicable privacy and data security laws and regulations. Only authorized personnel of the Company and our third-party service providers are provided access to personal information, and these employees and third-party service providers are required to treat this information as confidential. Despite these precautions, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized persons will not obtain access to your personal data.
7. Rights
You may submit any request below by clicking Privacy Rights Manager or contacting us at privacyoffice@lionsgate.com. We will verify your identity using the information you provide us with the request. We reserve the right to request additional information for verification purposes. You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
- Right of Access. You may request that we disclose the categories of personal information and sensitive personal information we have collected about you in the 12 months preceding the date of your request, including information about how that information has been used and disclosed. You also have the right to request specific pieces of your personal information and sensitive personal information, subject to exceptions under applicable law.
- Right to Correct. You may request that we correct your personal information in our possession, subject to certain exceptions under the applicable law.
- Right to Delete. You have a right to submit a request that we delete your personal information and sensitive personal information. We may be unable to complete this request if the information is necessary to complete a transaction with you, detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, comply with the law, or to use internally for purposes aligned with your expectations. There are other exceptions that may apply to this request.
- Right to Non-Discrimination. We will not discriminate against you in any way if you choose to exercise your rights under this section.
8. International Transfers
The Company has a global presence and may transfer your personal information to a country (including the United States) that does not provide the same level of protection for your personal information. The Company may transfer your personal information to its family of companies, carefully selected service providers, business partners, and other third-parties for the purposes described in this policy.
Whenever we transfer your personal information, we look at the risks to your information and rely on safeguards like standard contractual clauses, where applicable, to ensure your rights are protected.
